Bob Anderson at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino

BobAndersonBob Anderson is not a native Las Vegan, but the “Singing Impressionist” called Las Vegas his home for so many years, he was declared a “Native Las Vegan,” during his more than 2 ½ decades of appearing on the Las Vegas Strip, including 10 years at the Top of the Dunes. His love of Las Vegas, and for the dinner clubs that once were the staple of Las Vegas, has brought him right back to those very roots.  Anderson will be appearing for a very special engagement in the showroom at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, this Friday (Nov. 22)

It was Merv Griffin who launched Anderson into national prominence, after an appearance on his nationally syndicated television show, with Nancy Sinatra. Merv was impressed with the young singer, and had seen his ability to mimic other singers backstage. Merv took charge of his future by writing his act and presenting him to the world: The “The Singing Impressionist” was born. Soon, all the talk shows were requesting Anderson. Johnny Carson sent his talent coordinator to the Top of the Dunes to catch the show. Bob was booked to appear the following Monday on “The Tonight Show,” and was immediately booked to return on Thursday of the same week (never had anyone ever been asked back in the same week during Carson’s tenure).

Anderson became a well-known entertainer all over the world, with more than 100 national and international talks show appearances, network variety shows, and major telethons. Today Anderson still nails the voices of the great singers of our time. Along with his conductor, Vince Falcone, they present the “Voice of Bob Anderson in Concert.”

Bob’s most recent appearance in Las Vegas was at The Italian American Club in September. Prior to that, he performed at the Smith Center Jazz Cabaret, and did a sold-out concert with the Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra at UNLV.
