Ismo Leikola at the Tropicana Laugh Factory

It was about this time last year that Leikola, who is from Finland, made his Las Vegas debut after winning the coveted title in 2014 at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. Leikola is one of the most successful stand-up comedians in Finland. To gain the title of the Funniest Person in the World, Leikola moved to California and entered the international comedy competition, which was streamed live to millions of viewers, and received over 100,000 votes to win the title. Ismo’s English-speaking career has been welcomed ever since with excellent international reviews.

His stand-up comedy career began in 2002 in Finland, and has, since winning the title moved to Los Angeles permanently, becoming a regular at the Laugh Factory, The Comedy and Magic Club’s and the Ice House in Los Angeles. He appeared on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly last October. Besides headlining in Las Vegas, Ismo headlined at the Silver Legacy Casino in Reno. Leikola has performed to sold-out solo-shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the New Zealand international Comedy Festival in 2016.

“The highlight of the night. His observational comedy with a Finnish accent can be blamed for the teary mascara mishaps. He brought the rating of the show up from not just five stars, but to five Michelin stars…” Stuff Entertainment reported.

He is huge in Finland, and over the years he has had his own sitcom “ISMO,” three DVD releases from  2008-2016, and numerous sold-out nationwide concerts, along with a fantastic theatre tour in 2016.

After starting her stand up career in New York where she spent many years performing in live theater, Jennifer Murphy moved to Los Angeles nine years ago and has been seen on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, and her own TLC special, “This Is Why You’re Still Single.” and the comedic film Dumbbells.

Since age 19, Las Vegas native Jay Reid has been entertaining audiences in small clubs throughout Las Vegas, and has appeared in comedy venues from Los Angeles to Iraq. Reid’s first big break came when he was chosen to be a contestant on BET’s “Coming to the Stage” comedy competition, where he went head-to-head in a weekly comedic battle against other rising comedians. The popular funnyman was featured in the blockbuster movie “21” starring Kevin Spacey. He recently appeared on Showtime’s highly anticipated comedy special “Bill Bellamy’s Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour” and currently travels the country with Bill Bellamy on the hot-ticket tour.

Show times are 8:30 and 10:30 p.m., with tickets ranging from $34.95 to $54.95. Call 702-739-2411 for more Information.

THIS AND THAT QUICKLY:

Earl Turner
Earl Turner

You will want to catch the fantastic song-and-dance-man, Earl Turner when he appears in the showroom at the South Point Hotel & Casino on Friday February 17 through Sunday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Many have rightfully called Turner, including this writer, the ultimate singer, dancer, and entertainer. He reminds me of another great song- and-dance-man, Sammy Davis Jr.

Turner’s musical journey began in a coffee house in Columbia, MO. Just him and a guitar. At 19, he left home and joined up with traveling R&B Soul Revue, and life has never been the same since!  He worked hard and learned how to work a stage, how to dance, and how to sell a song. “I did whatever I could to hone the craft that I loved.”  He soon settled down in Shreveport, LA, where he joined a County and Western Band.  Yes, you read that right!  From R&B to Country. Eventually, the road called again, and that road led him to Las Vegas,

“This journey has been filled with so many different musical styles.  From my humble childhood to the present, I’ve experienced life changing moments and have met and shared the stage with amazing entertainers and friends,” Turner said.

And for the very first time, his baby sister, Denise, will be joining Turner onstage as his special guest! For further information call the box-office at the South Point 702-797-8055.

That’s So Vegas! That’s So Vegas! entertainment TV talk show, hosted and produced by author/blogger Christine McKellar, has moved into an office suite and studio in the Las Vegas Arts District on 4th Street near Charleston Blvd. The custom studio utilizes three high definition cameras and features three 62-inch HD TVs instead of the traditional green screen.

“We’re thrilled to be in the famous Las Vegas Arts District,” said McKellar. “Our Mayor Carolyn Goodman along with Tony Hsieh (Zappos) have put a lot of time and effort into revitalizing downtown Las Vegas. It was pure serendipity when an opportunity arose for us to become a part of the development effort.”

Following a very successful startup year with the WCOBM (World Center of Broadcast Media) Network and studio, the decision to move into an office/studio suite was also one of necessity. “I’m booking such great guests on the show that I wanted to provide more than a basic studio. Now I can offer a dressing room as well as a relaxing pre-show environment, free Wi Fi, and refreshments,” said McKellar. “The show also has been streamlined from a one-hour format to a half-hour format with a minimum of commercial interruptions.

That’s So Vegas! is broadcast worldwide. “I’m already impressed with the viewership analytics,” said McKellar, “Considering our new format is only a few months old.” McKellar also continues to market That’s So Vegas! via popular social media platforms.

Along with state-of-the-art equipment, That’s So Vegas! features a creative editing team. “We welcome sponsors and we’ve developed a very attractive multi-media marketing platform for clients,” said McKellar.

The new studio is located at 1200 South 4th Street, Suite 102, Las Vegas, NV 89104. For booking requests, sponsorship opportunities and media information, contact Christine McKellar at 702.328.8157 or by email at tsvlvtv.com.
