With the opening of the Mob Museum at the Tropicana, and the soon to be opened Las Vegas Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, downtown, it’s only natural that a smart promoter would create a show around a famous mobster.
The most famous criminal name associated with Las Vegas, was Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegal, famous for putting Las Vegas on the map. He is making history once again. Starting April 16th, “V Theater” show-goers will dig into a hot breakfast, and will be enthralled with tales of Sin City’s glory days, served up by none other than “Bugsy.”
“Breakfast with Bugsy,” will become Las Vegas’ newest and only breakfast show. At one time, however, Las Vegas had a breakfast show, in the mid ‘70s, at the old Landmark Hotel/Casino. At that time, a local radio station sponsored the program, and, I believe, not sure on this, that the late Red Mcllvaine hosted it.
The buffet will begin at 9 a.m. on the Veranda level of the “V Theater,” inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Following the meal, “Bugsy,” and some of the Strip’s most popular acts, will take the audience through the evolution of Las Vegas, from a desolate desert road to the “Entertainment Capital of the World.”
SEVEN Magazine’s “Producer of the Year,” and theater owner David Saxe, came up with the idea for Breakfast with Bugsy after noticing a need for a morning entertainment option.

Rumor has it, that the infamous “Railroad Pass Gang” is once again in the area, and will be going after the payroll carried by the Southern Nevada Railway. Those in the know say this could be the largest amount of money ever carried by the railroad.
The payroll is going to be dropped off at the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino, and deposited in the old Union Pacific Safe. According to the Mayor of Boulder City, the cash is scheduled to be transported on the final day of the mayoral race, and both candidates will be aboard the four trains in an attempt to gather last minute voter support.
The local sheriff reports that members of the gang-identified as Lightning Rick, Molly B. Outlaw, Lester P. Larceny, Buffalo Kid, the Reverend Cole, El Rooster, Cody the Woman Killer, and crazy Jackson– have been seen in the valley,
In anticipation of trouble, the payroll will be traveling under the watchful eyes of heavily armed United States Marshals. Earlier this week, Marshal Gunman was quoted as saying, “If an attempt is made, we’ll be ready for a fight!”
The trains will be departing from Boulder City’s Nevada State Railroad Museum, 600 Yucca Street, right behind Taco Bell, on Saturday, April 16, at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Adults can travel for $10, children 4-11 ride for only $5, and children under four are free! Two of this writers favorite entertainers, return to the “Addison Lounge,” inside the Rampart Hotel/Casino, this evening (Friday), Saturday and Sunday. Frankie Randall and Pete Barbutti will be doing their thing on the ivories, with show times set for 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday, and a special 4 p.m. show Sunday.
Randall is a throwback to the good ol’ days of the big band era, when crooners sang before huge audiences, and their records were the hottest thing on radio. The late, great Frank Sinatra, discovered Frankie playing piano at a club in New York, and the rest is history.
Barbutti, who is famous for appearing on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show, and was one of the few musician/comedians that would consistently crack Carson up, will probably play the piano with his famous smoking cigar, and could even do his more famous broom concerto.
Whatever the two buddies do, you will be royally entertained. Oh, yeah, gang, they are two members of the, “That’s Italian” group, which also boasts of Deana Martin as a member.
“VOICES 3,” will make their Las Vegas debut this Saturday and Sunday (April 16-17) at the Suncoast Hotel Casino, at 7:30 pm. Though the name has been changed, the faces and voices are well known to Las Vegas audiences.
Bill Fayne, creator of the Las Vegas Tenors, has been a popular entertainer, music director, pianist, singer and producer for more than 10 years in Vegas, and for more than 40 years as a musical director for Clint Holmes, and numerous other entertainers. Teddy Davey has been singing and acting for most of his life. Since moving to Las Vegas, Davey has established himself as a top-notch solo artist, and was a member of the Las Vegas Tenors. Chris Coyne has traveled the world performing in musical theater productions, and was the lead singer in “Jubilee!,” at Bally’s, and most recently in the “Follies Bergere,” at the Tropicana. Coyne has also performed with The Tenors.
