The dynamic musical trio Poperazzi, blurring the boundaries between classical and popular music, returns to the Suncoast Showroom, this weekend, Nov. 25–26, each evening at 7:30 p.m.

Poperazzi, committed to maintaining and preserving the core traditions of the classical music style, infuses each performance with rock and pop-inspired energy, resulting in a pure blast of  adrenaline. From opera to rock, Pavarotti to Jersey Boys, Sinatra to The Rolling Stones, these young, versatile entertainers perform a delicate musical mix of Opera with a twist. George DeMott and Cody Shawn Gay, joined by soprano Janien Valentine, make up Poperazzi. The trio’s original style is uplifting and energetic with performances that are not only relevant to today’s Pop-Opera genre but groundbreaking in its originality.

Poperazzi’s Symphony Pops show features a captivating and varied span of musical styles celebrating the music of Italy and songs popularized by Italian-Americans, including Frank Sinatra, Louis Prima, Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and others. They will also kick off the holiday season with a handful of Christmas and Hanukkah favorites.

Grammy-nominated and platinum recording artist, and season six “American Idol” winner, Jordin Sparks, helped kick off the inaugural celebration of Winter in Venice at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas, Monday with a complimentary performance on the Las Vegas Strip’s only outdoor ice skating rink . The star of the upcoming feature film, “Sparkle,” entertained the massive crowd with a musical selection that included her hits “Tattoo” and “No Air” and the holiday classics “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “The Christmas Song.”

Surrounded by candy cane stilt walkers, snow angels, jesters and toy soldiers, the front of the plaza, and the outdoor gondolas of The Venetian, were transformed into a winter palace while guests sipped on holiday-inspired drinks, including the peppermint Gondolier Blanco and the amaretto-infused Godfather.

The debut of the “Nightly Holiday Spectacular” drew gasps and applause from the overflowing audience as the entire front of the building lit up in flashing lights, lasers and larger-than-life snowflakes. As their attention was drawn to the Rialto Bridge, three tenors and a hip hop violin duo performed holiday hits and classics, before a majestic angel lit the 65-foot LED holiday tree.

The first true celebration of the winter season on the Las Vegas Strip, Winter in Venice runs through Jan. 8, 2012, as the ultimate destination for an unforgettable holiday experience.

On Thanksgiving Eve, Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino hosted a special event in its newly renovated, pioneer-themed Mystic Falls Park Laser Light and Water Show –which has been transformed into a whimsical winter wonderland.

Goodman, a representative of the U.S. Armed Forces, and Cowboy Santa and Mrs. Claus “flipped the switch” on Mystic Falls’ holiday lights, and the season’s first run of the magical, free holiday experience in the heart of the Boulder Strip.

After touring the West Coast, Gregory Popovich’s Comedy Pet Theater is back at the ”V Theater,” inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood for the rest of 2011. Comedy Pet Theater features an amazing cast of housecats, dogs, and parrots…even geese and mice! Critics describe it as a unique blend of comedy, world-champion juggling, and the extraordinary talents of more than 30 performing pets. Popovich rescued his performing animals from shelters all over the country, and transformed them into Las Vegas stars! Popovich is a fifth-generation circus performer, who learned early-on how to develop strong bonds with animals. He released his first book, “You CAN Train Your Cat,” in late 2009, and has been featured on The Tonight Show, David Letterman and in USA Today, to name a few. The Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Awards announced two exciting developments in this year’s awards show. For the first time, the awards show will partner with the FOX Sports network to bring all of the excitement and action of the show to the sports-focused network. The ceremony will be taped from inside the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, and will premiere nationally on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. on FOX Sports.

Additionally, the awards show will feature a live performance from some of Las Vegas’ most talented and popular entertainers. Kicking off the show will be Las Vegas headliners and the original champions of MTV’s Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew,” Jabbawockeez, who perform in the critically acclaimed headlining show “MÜS.I.C” at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Dressed in expressionless white masks and gloves, Jabbawockeez guides the audience’s attention away from individual identities, and toward a unified group, while encouraging viewers to visualize the music by painting artistic imagery through their intricate moves.

The MMA Awards 2011 will be co-hosted by UFC middleweight star Chael Sonnen and award-winning sports reporter, Molly Qerim. With 22 categories up for grabs, the awards show gives fans across the globe the chance to cast their vote on which athletes, brands and industry professionals have made the greatest impact on the fast-growing sport in the last 12 months.
