Queen

In an incredible career spanning more than four decades, Queen’s indelible influence on rock history is unrivalled. The band has amassed a staggering archive of accolades and honors including seven Ivor Novello awards, an MTV Global Icon Award and three songs enshrined in the GRAMMY Hall of Fame. With record sales in the hundreds of millions – their Greatest Hits collection has sold over 6 million copies in the UK alone, meaning one in three UK households own a copy – plus a string of chart-topping albums and singles, Queen are undoubtedly one of the UK’s most successful and best loved national treasures. With one of the most enduring song catalogues of all time, including “We Will Rock You,” “We Are The Champions,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “Somebody To Love,” and of course “Bohemian Rhapsody,” their musical repertoire is second to none. The glittering legacy created by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon lives on through the ongoing partnership of May and Taylor, now joined by Adam Lambert. November 2, 2018 will see the release of the feature film “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The bio epic is a celebration of Queen’s meteoric rise through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Adam Lambert

After blowing everyone away on the eighth season of American Idol, Adam released his debut album ‘For Your Entertainment’ which featured collaborations with Lady Gaga, Pink, Max Martin, and Muse’s Matt Bellamy. It spawned the International hit “Whataya Want From Me,” which earned him a GRAMMY nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. THIS AND THAT QUICKLY:

LVMS “Keepin’ It Cool”

NASCAR fans will be cool and comfortable when they attend the South Point 400 weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. As part of its “Keepin’ It Cool” initiative, the speedway is underscoring its expanded cooling plans that call for misting stations, cooling zones, shaded areas, and ways for fans to stay cool and hydrated throughout the weekend. In addition to extra water sales locations, LVMS is adding water “bubblers” that will allow fans to get free cups of cool water at a number of stations around the property. The speedway will have 100 misting machines set up at various locations, as well as large shade tents in the Neon Garage, the Vegas Village in Turn 4 and in the Fan Engagement Area. Extra-large port-a-cool fans will be used to circulate air through the concourse underneath the grandstands, and the Dream Racing Gaming Garage in the infield will be set up as a cool zone as well.  Fans also can purchase towels that will be dipped in ice water at the LVMS merchandise areas, and several vendors in the Fan Engagement Area also will be selling cooling supplies.

And speaking about Turn 4 where Vegas Village is located, there will be new section where folks can gather in a continuing effort to enhance its fan experience, the speedway is rolling out the “Turn 4 Turn Up.” The special gathering spot – located on the concourse level outside Turn 4 – will feature everything from a Ferris wheel to a swimming pool, food trucks, music with a live DJ, games, and drink specials during the Sept. 14-16 race weekend. Turn 4 Turn Up will serve as one of several cooling zones LVMS is implementing throughout the facility, and the festival-like atmosphere will give fans the chance to see NASCAR racing like never before.

Turn 4 Turn Up

“We’re always looking for creative ways to enhance the race-day experience, and the Turn 4 Turn Up is certain to be a big hit among our fans – especially those who consider themselves millennials,” LVMS President Chris Powell said. “People come to sporting events searching for new and unique experiences, and this new festival area will be a great spot for our visitors to do exactly that. I don’t think any other speedway can offer the variety of activities we do, and this new area gives us an even wider array of ways to entertain our visitors.”

Turn 4 Turn Up will be open to all ticketholders during the weekend. It will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, South Point 400 weekend begins with the Star Nursery 100 NASCAR K&N Series West race at the Dirt Track on Thursday, Sept. 13, before moving to the superspeedway for three consecutive days.
