UNSHAKEABLE Halloween Fundraiser, The Shade Tree “Trunk ‘R Treat” and Much More

First off I would like to thank those friends, relatives and book buyers, who took the time to drive downtown to the Annual Las Vegas Book Festival, and who stopped by (Karen and I shared the booth) to say hello and to actually buy a book from one of us.  Most of the books we sold, to be honest, was to complete strangers. My book “Four Planes Started, Only Two Finished” and Karen’s “Eye’s in the Sky” were well received.  For me, my various family members all purchased which was really neat. And all six of the guys in Karen’s book (known as the Mouse Pack) were on hand to autograph her book and to talk to all the visitors. Thank guys for spending your day off helping us sell our books.  As for those friends who have not had the time to order a book from me or Karen you can find them on Amazon.

THIS AND THAT QUICKLY:

UNSHAKEABLE will host its fourth annual fundraising event, a special viewing of the “Most Horrible Horror Movie Ever,” Ghosts of Goldfield, on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 6-9 p.m. at The Space, located at 3460 Cavaretta Court, Las Vegas. In addition to the screening of the cult classic, the event will also feature light food and beverages. Costumes are encouraged!  Just in time for Halloween, the campy horror movie was produced by the founder of UNSHAKEABLE, Debbie Isaacs and filmed in central Nevada, in the old mining town of Goldfield right outside of Tonopah. The 2007 film, starring Kellan Lutz, Marnette Patterson, Mandy Amano, Scott Whyte, Chuck Zito, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Ashly Margaret Rae, is based on the actual haunted hotel in Goldfield, Nev.

UNSHAKEABLE is a 501c3 nonprofit that partners with organizations providing rescue, shelter, addiction recovery and emotional counseling for at-risk women. The services the women receive at shelters, safe houses and sober houses are a critical first step on their path to restoration and provide emotional healing from the trauma experienced from human trafficking, addiction, abuse or homelessness. UNSHAKEABLE acknowledges that economic instability will drive individuals to do whatever they need to survive. With this understanding, UNSHAKEABLE provides the essential next step of reentry support to ensure sustainable financial independence and to reduce the rate of recidivism. UNSHAKEABLE aims to inspire, teach and empower women in recovery from trauma, including homelessness, domestic violence, human trafficking, and addiction. UNSHAKEABLE created the Empower to Employ Program that offers the 12-week I AM Lecture Series, individual career coaching and a Business Alliance aiming to change the economics of at-risk women in order to change their future. Unshakeable offers these services at no cost to the women. For more information, visit www.unshakeable.org

The event is open to the public, with a discretionary donation collected at the door. For more information and to RSVP, please visit https://unshakeable.org/horror-movie-event/.
