D.C. Young Fly at the Tropicana Laugh Factory

The Laugh Factory at the Tropicana Las Vegas has pulled of a biggie in booking one of the hottest comedians on social media, D.C. Young Fly will be performing a special 7:00 p.m. show beginning this Monday through Thursday.

D.C. Young Fly’s expansive work in the comedy, acting, and digital spheres have made him a standout as an entertainment multi-hyphenate. A comedian, actor, social media influencer, and podcast host, D.C. has proven that innate comedic ability, abundant creativity, and a passion for generating laughter in others can be translated across multiple mediums.

Walker Furniture “Help for Heroes”

Walker Furniture held a ceremony and luncheon at the VFW Post in North Las Vegas on June 29 to announce this year’s 12 U.S. Military veterans who received furniture, some specialized, as part of Walker’s sixth annual “Help for Heroes” program.

“We (Walker Furniture) created the ‘Help for Heroes’ program to help make day-to-day living a little easier for an often-overlooked segment of our community,” said Larry Alterwitz, Walker Furniture CEO/owner. “This year the program is providing some relief for 12 active military personnel and/or veterans.”

The 12 recipients selected from letters written by family, friends and community partners and read by American Legion Paradise Post 149 include: Peggy Randle – Navy Vet; Guy Nguyen – Marines; Chris McKay – Marines; Dale Hammond – Vietnam; Laura Mazzola-De Jesus – 10-year Vet; Brian Lougee — Army National Guard; Thomas Maloney – Air Force; Cleveland Lee Johnson – Air Force; Ricky Lee Poe – Desert Storm; Sharon Kimbrough – Air Force; Walter Norton – Vietnam – Air Force; and Kim Aurich – Air Force.

Help for Heroes Sponsors

John Mull’s – Road Kill Grill provided the lunch to the veterans and their friends and families while the Las Vegas Rescue Mission donated food boxes to each recipient. This year’s new community partner Yes Air Conditioning is providing any air conditioning or plumbing repairs each recipient may need.

Hammer’s House Party is the latest iconic package tour created by Universal Attractions Agency in partnership with MC Hammer. Following the successful launch of its “Summer Soiree” series last month, the second “Cadence Summer Soiree” event returns with a country twist on Saturday, July 13. The event happening in Cadence’s Central Park (1170 E. Sunset Rd., Henderson, NV 89011) will be held from 6-10 p.m.

Kicking things off, guests can scoot their boots and learn a few moves with line dancing classes while DJ Jace spins country hits. Headlining the event is local band Huckleberry Hicks and food trucks scheduled to participate include: Meats Gone Wild, Guido Pie, Greek Delights, The Spice is Right, Grand Slam Custard, and Cold Stone Creamery.

The Cadence Central Park playground will be in full swing and along with oversized lawn games for guests to enjoy.

The family-friendly event is open to the public with free admission to the park grounds and complimentary on-site street parking. Food and drinks will be available for purchase directly from each food truck and during the first hour of the event, attendees will be able to enjoy $1 off specialty items.
